An amazing portrait. I love the varied strokes of this piece and you have managed to employ such varied tones in the facial area. I like the touch of what looks like orange or reds of some kind on the cheeks, nose and eyes. There is also a haziness to the image which I take it is intentional since this is a digital image and not a scan/photograph of artwork. Is the haze perhaps a comment on exactly 'What it is to Feel"; to be clouded by emotion, barely able to penetrate the haze that it leaves in its wake.
I'm so glad you think so. That's exactly what she is - worn down.
It's an urban fantasy, kinda light, fictional read that is fun and character driven more than, you know, literary. No werewolves or vampires, though.
Without spoilers, it's about Cecile as she overcomes some paranormal obstacles to become a healthier, more complete person. She's kind of forced into it when a streak of violent crime in her city (Phoenix) forces her to use her (dis)abilities to help out a detective friend before someone ends up dead.
Anyway, so pleased you caught the mood. Mood isn't my forte!
